What will happen if Ford goes under?

If Ford goes under, do you think will happen?

Will it be bought up by VC's as Chrysler was?
Will the dealerships remain open for repairs/service only?
Will they join forces with another of the big 3? (Well GM)

Thoughts?

If they did go under I think they would join forces with another big automotive company.

Ford won't. Period. The government will not allow it to happen, unless it's done deliberately by Ford.

I agree, it won't happen. It can't happen.

It will bother you when you see how many jobs that are lost if it happened. And the job losses will effect EVERYONE in the country!!

One of the Chevy dealerships around here shut down all 14 dealerships. Something like 3000 people lost their jobs it was a total surprise.

I'd hate to see the loss of jobs of course, but I'd also hate to see the end of the Mustang

You should be ashamed of yourself, for making such an elitist remark. Regardless of whether or not you do your own work, is irrelevant. The bottom line, is your Mustang is still a Ford product. And FYI, if it weren't for the Ford Motor Co. the Mustang would had never existed, let alone remaining as America's most successful pony car, 45+ years later. Therefore, how about giving credit, where credit is due.

That being said, if your so against the Ford Motor Co. Then why do you still continue to own a Mustang at all.

Obviously, he doesn't take that into consideration either. IMHO, he doesn't even deserve the privilege of owning a Mustang !!!

WTF? I can't decide if that remark is incredibly ignorant or incredibly selfish.

I'd say a bit of both, John

Your don't mean the Bill Heard dealerships do you? From what I read, they ripped people off BIG TIME over the past many years, and also lost their GMAC Floorplan to pay for the cars they have. Also they are being sued, as they owe $220 Million (or something like that) to creditors and such.

Oh, and your comment about not caring really lit a fire in this thread. Not a good post my friend! You don't care if people lose their jobs? SELFISH!!!

How about incredibly IMMATURE. He's a 16 year old kid (brat?). Maybe it would hit home if daddy worked at ford and then he'd have to earn something for himself

Both very selfish, and very inconsiderate indeed, Jeff.
