TCC's take on Ford

http://www.thecarconnection.com/Extr...08.A10809.html

I'm of the opinion that the best course for Ford would be to go private, then bring Nasser's group or someone similar into a joint-venture ownership of Jag. This allows Ford to fix it's own wagon in North America (killing Mercury in the process, regrettable but inevitable), while reducing the burden of Jaguar without losing it's sales, engines, and R&D to an outright sale.

Just to let everyone know, Ford should stay as far away as they can from Jacques Nassar. Ford today is in the condition they are in, because of this moron! Nassar is a 1st class jacka$$.

They're there becuase he's a high-end car guy like lutz, who was pretty dumb when it came to maintaining the volume car brands (or tryign to make jag into one). I have no problem with him being back as an investor.

The thing is, being in the business, I saw what he did, and just how much of Ford's money he spend on really stupid ventures, when the products were getting stale. Believe me, he isn't the awesome car guy you think he is. The big cars guys were Kip Ewing, Fred Goodnow, Jim Padilla, and Phil Martens, I can go on and on. Nassar wasn't one of them. His big thing was to get major money into E-commerce, and such. Lost a ton of $$$ there. Plus he was one of the guys behind the blue-oval cetified dealer system, which really socked it to some dealers (some who never got their money that they were promised.) I really don't like him being anywhere near this company now.

There are only 4 people that have made any huge jumps (Performance/Enthusiest lover wise) That have jogged Ford Recently. Ms Amy B, Fields, Hua (Gee, wonder what he did,) And Carroll. Although he was more a nameplate than anything.

We need Colletti back..he could at least fix some things..like..I dunno..making SVT the brutal, gnarly contendor it once was?

I'm TOTALLY fine with this senario, believe me! I have dreams of a 300+ hp 3.5L Turbo V6, AWD, 6-speed Fusion EVO eater.
