Shelby 50th Anniversary Cobra

Shelby American is offering a limied run of 50th anniversary Cobra roasters, alas, all 50 are already spoken for. I would love to know the ratio of aluminum to fiberglass cars for these....I'm not sure I get the draw of a fiberglass car if you are going to go through the trouble to get the Shelby name and Cobra badge.

The worst part is these cars have no drivetrain...
All bought already..not to shabby for a guy that owes his cars success to the crowd he tried to sue into oblivion...and lost....again.

On a side note . . . over the last few years the 289 Cobras have really started to appeal to me. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the big 427 Snakes, but a 289 Cobra, like the one pictured in the above links (and below) is very darn cool! I might even select it over a 427 Snake . . . might . .

I wish the fed would allow some kind of 'exception' for ultra low production manufacturers of what are almost always very expensive cars. The only thing cars like these not being exempted from safety rules accomplishes is that you can't buy them with a drivetrain and have to title them either as an 'original' or a component car.

I'm with you. I would love to have a 427 Cobra parked next to a 289 Cobra in the garage, increasingly so as I get older.
