I found this on ford-trucks.com, so if you wanna see Bronco again - sign this petition.

hmmm... everybody there seems to say its a given that ford is putting out a new bronco, they're just upset that its gonna be a car based SUV. I wasn't aware that ford had plans to pursue a new bronco, besides that concept they put out last year or so. I don't really see this as something that's essential for ford to do in order to stay alive as some of the people on that petition seem to think. But the idea of building a truck that's actually geared towards off roading rather than a big vehicle that's just trying to look like a real truck is appealing. I just don't think off-roaders make up that big a market.

and for the record, the reason i like broncos is because they are NOT huge oversized sockker mom tank SUVs. they are REAL SUVs. they arent even all that big. i'd love to see this begin production and i know that when i go off to college in the Midwest (i hope) where theres plenty o' snow ill definately be looking to buy one of these or something similar.
c'mon ford!

Ya, i gotta agree. Like right now, the industry is like "these people only want big cars for style and safety, so we're gonna build a big hiney truck that's big for no good reason." If they build something like this bronco, I'm sure there will be plenty of people buying this thing that won't need it, just for the style, but at least ford wouldn't be encouraging them to do so, like with escalades and expeditions and stuff. Maybe the fashion trend will pass someday, and the only people buying a truck like this would be the people who actually need it, which is fine.

somehow I don't think ford will pull the trigger. The market is shifting away from SUV's first of all. Second of all, the vehicle looks to be tall, short wheelbase with a bias to rolling over (lots of media hype about that). Third, there is no good chassis out there to build it off of. Maybe when the Ranger gets its clean sheet redesign (sometime in the next 4-5 years), they could look at building a bronco off of that new chassis.

Yeah that's what we need. Another oversized SUV that gets 10mpg. Jeez, gas goes back down $1 and everyone wants Hummer clones again.
