so, the s-type's getting a touch up job... meh...i think they should persue this car really hard, after that XK comes out, they should try to set the S-type up against the 5 series and the A6. Whatever, they don't have much money now i guess.

anyways, check out that crazy GT! is that a crazy paint job or do you think its like, protective stuff on it or something...

And that GT looks like a Zebra! I have to think it was/is a testing car.

That sure is an interesting character line running through the doors and fenders on the S-Type (I have never seen one so curved).

I'm sure it's just a camouflage thing on the GT. Looks cool anyways.

Dude, Jason, you feel the XK only got a mild refresh?? I thought it was all out redone pretty aggressively... the overall shape of the car is totally different, much shorter overhangs, tapered at the nose and the tail so that if you look at it from a quarter view, the overhang pretty much disappears. The car weighs almost 300lbs less than the outgoing car too, making the regular 300hp XK almost as quick as last years 400hp XKR. Personally, the car didn't look that nice to me at first, but now, i'm definitely planning on putting it in my 10 car dream garage when i finally get around to posting in that thread. I love the hatchback too, Ian Callum (the dude that designed it, as well as a bunch of astons) said in Motor Trend that if it was his company, he would've gone ahead with a sideways opening hatch like on the E-types, but that the mechanism was too complicated.

just look at those haunches out back!

i always thought this last generation was pretty awkward looking:

i personally think that after such an awesome job on redoing the XK, they should keep the ball rolling and turn the S-type into something just as hot and distinctive as the new XK.

Wow...the new XK is sweet. No doubt that it'll be featured on the next James Bond 007 movie.

I see this all the time, but never figured it out yet.

What does the "meh" in your topic title stand for?

I've also seen other threads that have "the" ?

so i guess i shouldn't despair... apparently this is a prototype built to test the cooling and engine, so they just tack the new nose onto an old car, so that's why it all looks the same in the back. That's reassuring. Looks like this car could end up being pretty interesting. From TCC:

oh ya, did you notice this:
We also hear rumors that the F-Type roadster could finally be launched, based on the S-Type's front-engine, rear-drive chassis. It's unlikely to appear before late 2007, though.
sounds pretty cool to me, maybe ford could make use of that thing for a sick lincoln roadster or something....

If that car is going to be in the new Bond movie, it wouuld be used by someone else. Now that Aston Martin produce 3 different cars, James Bond's new ride will either be a DB9 or (and I'm hoping for this one) the new V8 Vantage. The movie starts shooting in January, and they just named the new Bond yesterday.

ya, i dunno, the only jag i could imagine being featured in a bond movie would be the new XK (maybe this F-type when it comes around) but the XK was in the last one, playing around with bond's AM on the ice. I think it'll be the AMV8. Do you think they'll put that one on an Explorer chassis like the last two? I'd buy one of those...

Meh means "I can take it or leave it, it doesn't really interest me" or words to that effect

I love the looks of the new Jag, I've still to see one though! The interesting thing about the pic of the camo'd car is the license plate. VX04 CVL. The 04 part of it means that the car was registered before September last year, so that is an old shot or a very pre-production model.
