new project car- 70 Torino

Here is a projet car I bought about 7 years ago for $500. It has sat in my brothers spare garage for the last 4 or 5, he wants it out for his Coblat ss . So I decided it was about time to start work on it. It has a 302 auto with factory air,Brougham edition and Vinyl top. Down points- it is a four door and green . Have the wheels pulled for new tires, they should be in by Friday, have to drain all the fluids, some tranny work, needs new exhaust and a good cleaning. Interior is in pretty good shape. It has just over 100k on it. Any thought, besides the junk pile? .
My brother says the parts are worth more than the car is, that I should just part it out and be done with it.

Not a huge fan of the 4-door Torino now the coupe/2-door... yeah that's good stuff.

Up here in New England that would be a good "Winta Bomma".

Yea, I agree, but the price was right a few years back. For what I put into it I don't think I could get that out of it... but something fun to work on.

awesome! My first car was a 71 torino. I really dug that car! it was the same nasty green too!!!! I put some sweet wheels and tires on it, and painted it teal green. ended up being a really sharp car! 351 cleveland too! congrats!

Put new rubber on it tonight and drove it home, there is a different feeling to 4 wheel drum brakes...LOL. Front end suspension is good, need to pull the drums and check the brake pads. will give it a good washing this weekend and post some more pic's.

You could make a real nice Talladega out of that coupe.

Started to clean it up over the weekend, washed it and worked on the interior. here are some shots...
A few things to note, the air vent know with vent behind it . The high tech climate controll system... The interlocking lap and sholder belts that were installed after build . The wrong tire label in the glove compartment. And the full information instrument panel.

Also pulled the back seat, the three sets of seatbelts were still wraped in plastic . Darn mouse ate up the build sheet . The dash is padded but above it is painted steel. The wood grain trim is just contact paper on steel. Brakes 4 wheel Drum. Oh the comforts of home...LOL

My parents had a '70 4dr green Torino very similar to yours. Theirs was a much cheaper version. Base model with no AC, no vinyl roof (very popular back then), and an inline 6. It was the first new car I can remember them buying and without a doubt start me down the path to being a Ford fan! Thanks for posting the pics!
