Final decision came between this car and red Fusion. My brother didn't like red one because it had two-tone interior.

Overall, we're all happy with purchase. It was pretty cheap too ($15,500).

Mine has the two tone interior. I really didn't want tan & black but it was the only one I could find with all the other features I wanted so I bought it. A year later it has grown on me.

And yes, I4 Fusions are a helluva deal for the price. I love mine even more now than when I bought it (especially with gas pushing $4/gal!)

Actually I'm little disappointed with gas mileage.

20 mpg is ok, but I kinda expected more from 2.3L. Heck, my 3.8L Mustang can get 20 mpg if I change gears at low RPMs.

Give it some time to break in. I now average 25 in mine around town but it didn't start that high. Also, 32 is my best (all highway).

It can't be worse than Intrepid we traded in. I never got more than 15 mpg in that car.

Cool Fusion I4 - Is Very Nice!!

Our daughter drives one of these very sharp I4's and she just loves it! So ol' Dad took it for a drive in town and out on the interstate with her. What a wonderful driving sedan! And very well priced too! Her's is a great looking dark metallic blue color, with the gray leather buckets, 6-CD player, 17" alloy wheels etc. Impressed with I4's engine power band and also the build quality of the whole car! She claims about 30 MPG highway and that it also sips the gas in town. She has had her Fusion for over 15 months and is even happier now, with the crazy daily rising gas prices!! Outstanding car, priced (18K) thousands under the cost of the popular rice brand sedans. and it's a FoMoCo product!!

Just read that the 2009 Fusions will be availible with the Hybrid power drive train and the great Sync sound system too!! Better order early, if you think that you will want one of these babies!! If my wife didn't already have her heart set on a new 2009 Escape Hybrid, we could get the 2009 Fusion Hybrid. But I have my S197 GT/CS. So this time, it is her choice, on the next Ford that we put in our stable! CalStang
