The Flex is based on the same patform as the Taurus and it looks nothing like the Taurus. The new Explorer looks a little like the Tautus because they wanted it to.

Base price is around $28,000 for a V6.

Is there a reason why Explorer is almost cheaper than Edge even with being bigger, more powerfull and with better off-road capabilities?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why exactly would anyone order 2.0L instead of 3.5L? For few extra mpgs?

Actually the Edge is more powerful. It's got the 3.7L with 305hp.

What would be Edge Sport which has a base price of like ~$36,000.

Base Edge, which cost the same as base Explorer, is powered by 3.5L V6 280 hp engine.

Either way it's less than Explorer's V6.
