New 2011 Explorer looks like...

Hey, the front end of the new 2011 Ford Explorer reminds me of the rear end of our favorite pony car!

Looks good, reminds me of the Taurus front end which isn't a bad thing.

Love it, looks way better than the Flex (which I seriously considered before deciding on the 5.0). Can't wait to see what the tuners do with it. I thought the Saleen explorer from the late 90's looked incredible at the time.

The strange thing is the 4 banger will be an extra cost option over the 6 cylinder - I have a hard time seeing a 4 banger (even a turbo'd one) moving this thing around. Weighs almost the same as the old model?!

it might do a better job of moving it. it does have 20+hp more than the 4.0 V6 and i would assume the better transmission.

Tauras grill/hood, edge lights slash shape, and the roof line looks like a flex. That is a VERY sexy explorer.

I agree. Just showed it to my wife as a possible future replacement for her Tundra.

The reason it's Taurasy looking is because it's built on the same chassis as the Taurus. Definitely really neat looking too though. Ford dealers must be loving life right now.

Just showed it to the wife - she really likes it - but we are still going with a new Edge.

Cool "Oh My"!

First Lady has been shopping Ford Escapes lately. But when I showed her this brand new 2011 Ford Explorer she said "Oh My"! Now she shall wait for these to arrive and then price one of them out. So very great to be a Ford family. "All Good". CalStang

I "sort of" priced one on Ford's B&P site. No way in hell I'll be buying one of these new. It looks really refined but I"m concerned about it's off-road prowess not so much compared with the old Explorer but more against the Subarus. I think it looks like a worked-over Freestyle/Taurus X.
