My buddy's 1970 Ford Capri
My buddy from Serbia recently bought this one-owner 1970 Ford Capri which was sitting in the barn for the past ~20 years or so.
The original owner bought this Capri in Germany in 1970 and drove it to Serbia (at that time Yugoslavia) in 1972.
As you can see from the pictures, Capri is very completed with only minor work needed to start driving it. It's powered by a 1.3L V4 engine.
Car had to be towed from the garage to another city which was not an easy task due to problems with brakes on the front wheels.
Interesting this is, my buddy also owns a 2004 Focus Ghia which was built in the same factory and during the same month ... only 34 years later.

Wow, that's survived really well. I guess that garage kept it nice and dry. Is he now going to restore the car?
I love Capris and had a number of Mk3 versions. This was my last one, which I owned just before buying the Mustang. It's an '83 2.8 Injection Special.

Not much has changed.
He got a new engine for a car, a 1.7L V4, on which he's working on right now. The engine is completed, but never run in the past.

The car is sitting in his backyard now, waiting for spring when the restoration will start.

I wish your friend a lot of luck as spare parts for the European Capris are hard to get hold of and replacement body panels and trim are very, very rare
Please keep the photos coming though

Well, I spoke with my buddy few days ago and he informed me that he sold his Capri.
Reasons - lack of resourced and replacement parts in general in Serbia and lack of time.
Plus, for the price of the restoration of his Capri he could've bought a snow-car Capri.
