From Mexico with Love: Fiesta Sedan and Hatch
#21
The car will be ready before the Ecoboost fours will. Thre is a 1.6L Ecoboost under development which insiders are currently placing at 200hp/200lb-ft of torque. Such an engine could easily find it's way into a hi-po version of the Fiesta and deliver street scalding performance and jaw dropping mileage...I would be very interested in one if this comes to pass.

boooooo!
why do they have to muss it up with so much freaking chrome?!
very tacky imo.
take it off from the side window and the bumper lights and it would look MUCH better. I also don't like how it rounds out the grills.
the rear light looks a bit suspect as well

This should clear some stuff.
Besides the hatchback, the compact sedan that will come out of Cuautitlán plant will be entirely inspired by the Verve Sedan presented at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show (possibly only with minor changes).

It is one of the Verve concept cars but not all Verve concept cars wear/wore the same front fascia. One Verve concept front fascia http://www.egmcartech.com effectively mirrored what we are now seeing as the production European Fiesta while, according to at least one Ford insider, the other Verve concept, links to which were provided earlier in this thread, wears a front fascia which forecasts what we can expect to see here in North America.
Given the fact that one of the two concepts has already morphed, nearly without change, into the Euro spec production model and that the 'other' concept takes that same basic look and incorporates a larger, 3 bar grille into the mix...a look which is a trademark of newer North American Ford product.....I see little reason to doubt his accuracy. (Also, I wonder if anybody else here has noticed that the 3 bar grille in that Verve/Fiesta sedan shot looks amazingly like the grille setup we saw on the leaked next gen Taurus photos...right down to the thinner grille bars)
What you saw in the earlier link is what the North American car's schnoz is going to look like and is, effectively, what the North American Fiesta is going to look like as a whole with the possible exception of some chrome and the obvious exception of smaller wheels.

MT, shockingly, makes a good point in their latest issue when they point out that many specific cues like the angled headlights and the big lower intake are going to be Ford's global design cues, while the upper grille and some other details will be tailored for each market.
UK is seeming sticking with smallish, egg-crate opening while our grilles stay 3-bar; though will apparently move to the thiner, sleeker look of the Taurus spyshots and Verve Sedan concept. This is starting after the refreshed Fusion gives us the last hurrah of the current look.
