Yes and while those are all crossovers, they aren't the same vehicle. Edge? fine, smallish crossover, its great. BUT its not like the Taurus X, which is a wagon version of a full size sedan. Sure its a crossover, but its not the same sort of vehicle. The Flex isnt out yet, and from what i understand its larger than the TX would be, more of a minivan replacement methinks
There is room for all of them

I could see the Taurus X getting pushed out of the stable. Personally I thought the original idea to move it solely to Merc and keep it escape/edge/flex was decent. But the Cougar died on the vine when if it were brought to market as a probe would of sold a couple hundred thousand. If they were going to axe the merc version they sure went through a LOT of trouble to develop full frontal production components. It costs millions to tool up for all the different fittings. I just don't think Merc can support an exclusive model line, unless it was an import like the EU Mondeo as a rebadge. I never understood why Ford didn't try something like that, no Millan, bring over the Modeo albeit at a higher price point then Fusion(which is already priced under Camry/Accord). That or at least mixed up the Milan with the D35 of the MKZ.
