Is It Me or....

Does Ford not get any respect on the weekend car nut shows? Whether you're watching Spike or Speed, it seems all they like are GM muscle cars. You even see more Mopar crap than Fords.

I for one am fairly sick of the no respect shown to the Blue Oval on these shows.

Anyone agree? Am I delusional?

The guys on HorsepowerTV seem to dig the Mustang alot. I heard they're working on a show or two about the Roush add ons for the S197.

I used to watch "Trucks" a lot when Stacy David was a host, but I always had feeling he was more interested in working on Chevy instead of Ford.

it all stinks, i am all about pimp my ride on mtv. yeah those cars are soo hot.

not really, i do enjoy watching the show though. seems like they keep trying to "outdoo" themselves. I like build or bust on mtv. i also enjoy some of the shows on spike. but yeah there are no ford represented.

I find it interesting that origionally, it was Ford 289s or flatheads which were popular with hotrodders/modders, and now 99/100 hotrods have chevy small-blocks. Were Shelby, Sunbeam, Detomaso, etc wrong or does Chevy just have a better PR department?

I think most hot rod builders will tell you that Chevy motors are cheap, readily available and reliable. Straight up, I'm pretty sure that if you were to compare a 351W /C4 combo to a 350sb/TH350 combo, the Chevy will be less expensive to build. I applaud everyone I see with an old Ford rod that actually HAS a Ford in it.

Bravo to those guys.

question:

is the price of a chevy conversion to a fod car justified by the savings of said chevy combo?
