This is a good thing. I haven't shown, let alone sold a new Freestar in over a year. I can't wait till we see pics of the production version of the Fairlane Concept. That vehicle will be fantastic. I just wish they would tip their hand at what they will call it.

I prefer Minivans to SUVs, plus my folks had a minivan growing up cause it made sense for a family of 7.

oh you have it all wrong, a family of 7 should have 2 mustangs. 3 in one car and 4 in the other..and to think you could race at every stoplight all the way to soccor practice!

If the family member is a police officer then this is x2 cause then they could get away with whatever they want.

Embrace Crossovers. The Fairlane should have 3-row seating.

So crossovers are minivans with hinged back doors rather than sliding ones? Regardless I'm not in the market for a people carrier.

Lower center of gravity, better athstetic, better driving dynamic, but otherwise yes.

I think the minivan age is officially coming to an end. I see less and less of them on the road anymore. Considering you can get a Freestyle with the same seating and price and AWD, why pay for the FWD Freestar?

I've posted about the Ford Supervans in the past, but it's worth posting again since Ford it getting out of the 'Mini-Van' business. I'll take a MK2 or MK3 (which was a MK2) please. Although the World Rally Transit would be nice . . . in full 'Martini' livery!

I remember when I first saw the new Voyager back in '84. Minivans were brilliant then and they still make sense.

They're not for everyone. It's too bad Ford never put a competitive product on the market.
