Inside Line First Drive: 2007 Ford FPV Cobra GT

Here's the writeup on the car:

This car looks sick and packs a mean punch! IMO I think FORD should consider bringing this thing over here to the States to put up some competiton to the upcoming Pontiac G8 which is an Australian based car also!

Whatcha think??

I think that this car should be a coupe. I for one think that there is a place and a time for big engines and fast cars, and a sedan is neither. From Chrysler 300 SRT8's to BMW M5's I can't stand these high powered "fun" sedans. There is a market, obviously, but I just can't find the use of having a "practical" sedan, with a "performance based" engine. Sounds impractical to me.

Edit: I like the truck though, could fill in where the Lightning left off.

If Ford brought it to the US it would make the GTO look like a huuge success.

IMHO the styling is horrible and completely dated. It wouldn't sell for squat.

Agreed, decent platform, but the tastes are so different there in styling.

And what's with the Mustang II reference? Is Edmunds based in a mental facility or what?

I like it. It's not Interceptor, but I would still buy it.

The styling is straight out of the '80s, just like the GTO was.
