Four New Cars at Frankfurt
Menacing look.
I don't know how to explain how excited I am for the next fews years in the car industry. I dunno if I just never kept up with it this much before or if changes are actually happening at a higher rate than before the economy tanked a while back. Either way I love that theres always something new to look at. Cant wait for future Fords and the rest of the manufacturers!

From Auto Express:
There’s a new model bonanza at Ford, with the Blue Oval planning to launch five fully-fledged new models at the Frankfurt Motor show.
On the company’s biggest ever stand at the show – which will include a 2,800m2 track – the focus will be split between an all-new design concept showcasing Ford’s future styling direction, and two hot new performance versions of the brand’s mainstream models.
Leading the charge will be a concept that reveals the latest family-look for the brand, which we won’t see on the road until 2014. It's dubbed by insiders simply as “Kinetic 2.0” and teased in the official invite.
A spokesman for the company said that the concept was “seventy to eighty percent confirmed for production” but by showing it early “there’ll be an opportunity to take customer feedback on board before finalizing the design.”
Heading up the production models will be the Focus ST shown as a concept at the Paris Motor Show last year, which does away with the old five-cylinder turbo engine in favour of an efficient 2.0-litre direct injection unit.
Producing around 247bhp, it should be good for 0-62mph in less than six seconds and a 155mph top speed, putting it on a par with its fiercest rival, the RS Megane 250, but unlike before the Focus will not be available as a coupe.
Joining it on the stand will be the long-awaited Fiesta ST, set to be unveiled as a surprise alongside its bigger brother, with both models hitting showrooms next year.
Featuring a smaller 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine tuned to make around 200bhp. The Fiesta will also borrow the torque-vectoring system from the Focus to aid agility, and will ape its aggressive styling too, with a gaping honeycomb grille and blistered wheel arches.
Completing the set will be the production version of the B-MAX, with new details about its ultra-efficient 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost engine, and the Ford Ranger pick-up, a global car designed and developed by Ford of Australia. The Ranger will be available in five different bodystyles, with the most efficient model coming with a new 148bhp 2.2-litre TDCi engine.

That car (Ford Start concept) was introduced last year at one of Chinese auto shows, it was the first car with a new 1.0L EcoBoost I3 engine.
It might be the next Ford Ka.

I'm with you on that one. Any new Capri should be based on the Mustang platform........RWD and retro-ish looks.
They tried to call the early 90s Probe the new Capri. It didn't work.
They tried to call the late 90's Cougar the new Capri. It didn't work.
They can try and call a Focus coupe a Capri and it won't work.
Call it a new Puma and they stand a chance.
The European Capri is long dead...........let it rest in peace.

They might as well do what Volkswagen have done with a GTI and Scirocco.
I agree with you........sadly the market is small.
Y'know though, its amazing how many of us that drive S197s in the UK used to own a Capri though. It's got the same simple, fun character.
The original Capri was a slightly Europeanised version of the Mustang and it was a case of right car right time. Now, sadly, it'd be right car wrong time
I'm happy for Ford of Europe to continue to produce excellent handling FWD hatchbacks and maybe even a coupe or two, as that's what they excell at. Me, I'll stick to imported American muscle

Zoran, I'm from the UK, so we have scary fuel prices too (currently £1.36/litre). That means the Mustang is a weekend toy and the daily driver is a 10 year old BMW 520.....and even that hurts at only 27mpg. She's got 170,000 miles on the clock, so it'll probably be replaced with a 330d when it dies.
Anyway, back to those concepts

Another pic of possible Capri concept. According to majority of web-sites, it will be based on Focus meaning FWD and same engines (including 2.0L EcoBoost).
