i like your plans for the fusion. 370hp for the mustang GT sounds like a lot and sounds expensive IMO, though.

There was news some time early last year that Ford scrapped the plans for the Hurricane.

sorry dude, but i'm sure they're working on bumping the power in the F150 somehow.

Remember a couple of years ago that Ford called it's V10 experiment Mustang the "Boss 351". They could have called it the "Boss 5.8"
http://www.mustang50magazine.com/featuredv...51_v10_mustang/

That car would've made a helluva sleeper, even if it was detuned to say 400hp

"Oh look just another slow as molases GT", said the chump in the Z-28

Falcon is a great name but the original car was a POS.

However, the idea of a really hot Focus excites me. Build it, Ford!

You guys forgot something for the F-150......A FRIGGIN DIESEL!!!
4.5L V6 T/D
270HP
510TQ
the diesel under wraps for the F-150 is supposed to get REALY great fuel mileage!
in the neigborhood of low 30s HYWY.
If ford would do this all the chevy and dodge drivers driving 1/2 ton trucks would buy the F-150 in a jiffy just beacuse of the fuel mileage and, who offers a diesel in a 1/2 ton truck?

nobody, thats who

Galaxie (based on the Australian Ford Falcon)replaces the Crown Vic.
Base Galaxie—4.6L 2V SOHC V8 245 HP (for GrandMa and GrandPa) 5 sp Auto
Galaxie 281----4.6L 3V SOHC V8 300 HP, 5 sp Auto
Galaxie 329----5.4L 3V SOHC V8 350 HP(Police Intercepter), 6 sp Auto/Brembo Brakes/opt. Recaro's

Ford could very easily do this just like GM did with the GTO, they just have to develop a lefthand drive Aussie Falcon. I did some research and the Aussie Falcon is within 1/2" of almost every interior dimension except the trunk, CrownVic 20 cuFt/Falcon 17.5cuFt and the Aussie Falcon can be ordered with a 380 HP 5.4 4V--I could live with that

what it could look like in the states

The driver's on the left side instead of the right as it would be in Australia.

Can't be done. It's too difficult to modifiy the Australian platform to meet US safety requirements (discussed in previous posts).

All they can do is develop a new common RWD large car platform to replace both the Falcons and Panthers at the same.

Its quite possible that the monaro already had most US regulartions built into it so it wasn't very hard to make legal...

Maybe the falcon doesn't have the crash structure or other stuff the monaro had?

Nope. I did a little googling and found that GM spent $60 million in changes to the Monaro design in order to meet US regs. That's an awful lot of money but just because it's expensive, that doesn't mean it's impossible. The question is this: is it more expensive to modify the Falcon to meet US regs or modify an existing US platform (such as the Mustangs) to accomodate a larger, 4 door vehicle?
