Cool news.
More changes sooner than later.
Keeps cars from getting stale.

A good sign of renewed vigor within the musty halls of Dearborn? Ford far too often lets a good design whither on the vine for too long, even the Mustang is showing a few wrinkles of time, though far from stale yet. Hopefully the redesigns will be better considered and executed than the B-team effort the Focus recently got, a clumsy pistache of just about every current styling cliche out there.
The article's Flex example was good -- a fresh 2005 concept finally straggling into the showrooms nearly half a decade later. Such a compelling design should have hit the road as a 2007 and be slated for its first freshening in '10.

The Ford GT was shown as a concept at the Detroit Auto Show in 2002 and production models were delivered in the fall of 2004, but that was not exactly a regular production car.
So which automaker consistently gets a brand new product from concept car to production in two years?

But it does prove it can be done when there's a will to do it.
