Link to sales numbers

Cars are up 7.1%. Trucks are down 5.9%. Overall sales are down 1.3%. The most surprising thing is that sales of the Five-Hundred are up 7.3% from February 2005 and up 17.9% YTD over this time 2005. Even with trucks down, the F150 posted a 6.2% YTD over 2005.

Looks like Explorer is in deep trouble. Last year sales were down by a lot and Trailblazer outsold them for the first time in 10 years.

It looks like all the SUVs except for the Freestyle saw declines. It's good that car sales are on the upswing or it would be really, really bad.

I think the refinement of the whole Land Rover lineup has a lot to do with it. The new models aren't so cumbersome on the road.

It's nice to see the car sales up too. That's the way most people are going. IMHO I'd take a fully loaded 500 AWD Limited over a fully loaded Explorer Limited anyday. I love the Explorer's but hey to the average joe we're talking basically the same amenities for $10,000 less on the 500.
