Ford recalling 605,000 full-size trucks

Ford Motor Company is recalling a whole herd of trucks to see the team doctors over concerns about a hose in the braking system that could adversely effect the vehicles' braking power. According to the NHTSA, about 605,000 2005 and 2006 model year Ford F150 and Lincoln Mark LT trucks equipped with the 3-valve 5.4-liter V8 will receive a hose replacement free of charge.

Mistakes like this hit the pocketbooks hard. I sure hope the faulty part supplier is footing at least part of the bill.

Crap! That includes me. Well I guess this means my truck will spend its first day at the service center.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm so glad my F-150 has only 4.6L.

Off topic but what kind of city/highway mileage do you get with your F150 4.6L. I get about 14 city and 18 highway with the 5.4L.

About the same. During winters with 4x4 on I usually get 10-11 mpg in city.

The 5.4L is rated at 300 hp just like the 4.6L stang, what's the 4.6L truck motor rates at? I think I should buy a GT500 so Ican have a 5.4L in all 3 of my cars.

4.6L is rated at 231 hp for 2004-2007 models and 248 hp for newer models.

There will be two 4.6L, one with 2V and other one with 3V. 2V is the same one being offered now with 248 hp. 3V is the same one being offered in Explorer, so 290 hp. 5.4L will be making 310 hp.
4.4L w/ 330 hp diesel will also be available.

And then in 2010 6.2L w/ 400 hp should be introduced.

Thanks.

4 more weeks until my trip.

This time I'll also go to Croatia for about 1 week. I'm planing to go to place in Croatia where I grew up and where I haven't since since the war (since 1995).

I really hope all is peaceful and everything goes easy for you over there. We really have no idea what its like around the rest of the world in our cushy American lives. We really have it so easy for being lucky enough to be born here.

America, Civil War free since 1865. I think that's what the sign says coming in from Canada.

I have the '05 F-150, V6, 4.2L, 2WD. So for a P/U, it can't get better than that for gas mileage.

Ha! Bet most of you didn't know about that little V6, did you?

I shouldn't have any problems traveling there.
There are still some problems between Serbs and Croats even though war ended 13 years ago, but since I'm an American citizen now I shouldn't have any problems.

I wanted 4 doors and 4x4 in my truck. I wished I bought V6 F-150 or Ranger w/ 3.0L. With gas prices $4.20 here in Milwaukee area I can't afford to drive my F-150. It's been sitting in the garage since snow melted.

We have a V6 manual 2WD F150 at work. The person that drives it does so with a gentle foot and gets really good gas mileage. It is a very good truck and I think about the most economical as far as gas mileage you can get in a half ton pickup.
