That model is a turbo diesel, 4X4 only, right hand drive(Note the driver damage).
The four door type that is sold here is the Explorer Sport Trac, built on the Explorer chassis.

Strip away all the "Show Car Bling", and it might not look too bad, Ford Desperately needs to replace the current Ranger. It Looks So Outdated, and it's Extremely Cramped Inside.

Ranger is cramped, and I don't understand the lack of a fix here since the solution is ridiculously simple. Get rid of the existing regular cab model and make the extended cab model the sole choice. They could probably even keep the price the same as the existing regular cab models.

I like the extended cabs but, I have never felt cramped in my regular cab(and I ain't small).
Some passengers have actually been impressed that it has more room than other small regular cabs.
There just aren't very many trucks that small to compare it to anymore.

Some years back, Ford did lengthen the standard cab slightly. A lot of businesses still buy the regular cabs as no frills work/delivery trucks. Like you said, not a whole lot of competition in the small pickup area. I had a '93 Supercab and it was great for what it was.
