Dude, what is that vehicle? I woulda guessed Transit, but i thought the Transit was a lot bigger.
Here's the new transit:

But ya... post a name or a link or anything about that vehicle other than just a pic, you got me curious. Really though, if Ford wanted a quick fix for the sub compact segment like the Yaris and the Fit and all that, why not simply the Fiesta rather than this xB-like compact van. A very good looking compact car:

I guess the box-thing in the first pic could be a good competitor, but I dont understand the popularity of those boxy things. The xb, element, etc are some of the ugliest cars on the road IMO, and I cannot for the life of me understand what people see in them. They may be efficient, cheap, and small, but you can do all the positives in a much less ugly package.

Remember the VW Thing?

It was popular back then with the xB target market. That's what those kids want -- something unique-looking that can also haul them and their friends around.

Is that the Euro version Fusion? Seems I remember someone posting a pic like that before and referred to it as a Euro Fusion.

This could be based on the euro fusion, but it'd be like some special version of it or something. Here's the regular euro fusion:

I believe its actually based on the B-segment fiesta. Same as the Mazda2.

These quick fixes are great ideas... exactly why they won't happen

I'm betting the biggest problems would be currency flucuations and any importing issues with the UAW

Thing is - desperate times call for desperate measures, and we are WAAAAAY past using "currency fluctuations" and "UAW importing issues" as excuses now. WAY past. Ford needs to start thinking outside the box and take a quantum leap with its products if it is to survive.

As consumers look toward more thrifty options, Ford doesn't have a strong-enough car lineup to keep buyers who might want to downsize their ride. The Five Hundred sedan has not sold well, and the new Fusion—while it has won plaudits from car critics—sold just 13,691 copies last month, about one-third of what Toyota's Camry sedan sold.
