The first $4 a gallon hurts much more than the extra 20-30cents...

Anyone else hear the exhaust sound clip ford released? It sounds like the I5 they used to use in Europe. Super deep for a 2.0T

The EcoBoost in the F150s can run on regular if you want, or premium (91+) if you want all the hp. Just like the 5.0. You can run it on regular or 91+. The difference is about 10 hp or so, and equal amount of torque. But for the ST, I'm sure with the turbo, its boosted a little more to get more power, hence the need for 91+ all the time.

Agreed. I used to drive a 08 GTI. I put regular in it one day and that was a mistake. Car ran terrible. Never did that again

The brand manager posted on Facebook today that the Focus ST will be eligible for A/X/Z plan pricing. Definitely a good move IMO.

Interesting . . . on BON there is a thread stating the Focus ST (among others) is not eligible. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums...an-exceptions/

Though not sure of the source . . .

Hey Steve, that is VERY interesting news. I actually emailed Lisa Schoder, the brand manager for the ST line, about a month ago and asked her the exact same question and here is her reply (cut and pasted from the email to me from her):

Hi Jeff!
Thanks for reaching out. Since the Focus ST will be built in limited quantities, it is excluded from all Plan sales this year, similar to Raptor and GT500. Having said that, we feel the pricing is exceptionally competitive as it undercuts both the GTI and MazdaSpeed3, all while delivering so much more to the customer!

Thanks for your support on ST!

Best Regards,

If they did allow plan pricing, so be it, but I would think they would want to keep it off to keep the transaction prices higher, to keep long term value high. The ultimate test is when I get a VIN and run a VINCENT program sheet, and if shows the dealer commission for said plan sale for said plain sale, then its eligible. If not, its no-go, even if the prices are on the invoice.

I went back to Facebook and snagged a screenshot of the post Lisa put on there yesterday.

Adrian, I'm not doubting you, and I see the screen shot, but the car is on the Ineligible list on the A/X/Z/D Plan website (I just checked it, as it was updated on April 17th). The car cannot be purchased on these plans as of right now. Lisa may think its available, but her boss may have squashed it and she doesn't know the new info!! Might that change down the road? Maybe, but I doubt it. Again, it all comes down to running a VINCENT program on it. If there is a dealer commission for a plan sale, then its eligible. If the payment is not there, its ineligible.

I like it, but if i had $25,000 disposable dollars, I'd probably use it on a low miles 2011 5.0

They are totally different cars for different types of buyers. Muscle car guys and tuner guys have different tastes in a performance vehicle, I think the ST is more of a youthful vehicle while mustang buyers continue to get older (I'm sure rising msrp has something to do with that)
