Like I said all along, the prices would not hold up. I also said a few months ago you would be able to get one for $150K. Many people did not believe me so here is the proof. Remember the same thing will happen with the GT500.

I hope so, I'm trying to convince my Dad to get a Fod GT, preferably Gulf colors, how low do you reckon the prices will go before they come to a stop?

I think you will have a much harder time getting that color combo at a reasonable price.

The color combination is part of a package called the "Heritage Livery package." The package itself retails for $13,000. A fully loaded GT with this package would cost a bit over $174,000, so you will have a very tough time finding one at that cost unless it is ordered.

I can spec and price one out exactly to your specifications if you would like. PM me and I will be more than happy to give the cost of the vehicle.

Just convince your father to get a GT, period. Now this is something I would love to worry about! A person of my means wouldn't care what color it was as long as its mine and paid for. Pink? No problem! Besides, if anyone tries to race me, think how they would feel getting their butts handed to them by a pink car! Of course, I'm just kidding - I like the Gulf colors as well. Good luck getting one.

Don't assume that just because one is for sale at that price, that the prices arent holding up. Galpin just sold not one, but TWO GT's at $220,000 to two customers.

There is a sucker born everyday. Maybe even two. If you look good enough, the prices are there. There are plenty going for retail.

Here is one with the 10K increase in price (165K) sold for 157K

I don't think the same thing will happen to the Shelby, and here is my reasoning. The Ford GT as great as it is (and it is SUPER, as I have driven one), is out of the reach for practically most people. The Shelby GT500 on the other hand, will have a starting MSRP of about $40,000. This price, if you can get one at MSRP, is reachable by a whole lot more customers. IMO, you won't be able to get a Shelby for under list the first year at all.

BTW, on my showroom is a 2005 Ford GT, All options except for the upgraded wheels. Brand new, with 496 miles. Never titled, still on MSO, and is for sale. Mileage came from taking it to all the local car shows, and cruise nights.

If anyone is interested, feel free to drop me an email at jmgreenly@hotmail.com, or you can send me a PM.
