2007 Expedition
Looks pretty nifty.
I do think it needed more HP, though.
And, I don't get the "Inspirired by F-150" on the outside. maybe I don't see it. The center stack inside obviously is, though.

300/365 aint too bad on the power. At least it's got a 6 speed tranny, instead of the awful 4 speed. The Tahoe still has a 4. Styling doesn't do much for me, but Ford's SUV's never have, and they've always sold well.
I like the styling. But knowing how much power my wifes F-150 has in it, with presumably the same engine, I think it needs more.
However, with that said, she thinks her truck has plenty of power. :P

The interior looks really great. As for the engine, why only 300hp and why a 5500 redline. Also, take a look at the min. idle speed in drive. I would have like to seen a power increase too. Also, a displacement on demand system would be nice for consumers. Fuel prices are hurting SUVs and it's stupid of Ford not to implement fuel saving technologies readily available.
I got all excited at work today because I read on houstonautoshow.com that the Expedition was making its world premiere...I thought I would get to break the news. Oh well, I'll get to see it in person tomorrow!!!
i wish it were a bit more of a step away from the current one, i was hoping it would be very different. But overall i'd say its about as much a redesign as the Tahoe was. I'd say this one loos better than the Tahoe, but its a tight call. Definitely better than the Yukon though. But yeah, this thing definitely needed some kind of available fuel saving technology. I know hybrid trucks are a ways away for ford as the only hybrid transaxle they've developed is FWD, but cylinder deactivation woulda been key.

Looks to me like enough has changed to qualify as "all-new" in my book.

I'm no fan of the Tahoe, but that is an all-new design... staid as it may be. It's similar to the previous version, yes, but all-new from the ground up.

Reskin, yes. But all-new? That's like saying the Ranger is "all-new" everytime they nip/tuck the front end. From the A-pillar back it looks the same as it always has, save from the minor things like taillights, etc.

1. All new chassis
2. New body
3. New interior
4. New 6-speed tranny
5. New IRS
Yep, just a reskin alright!
Maybe not as extensive as the Tahoe but certainly not "just a reskin".
The specs say it's to be built in Windsor. But in Ford's restructuring plan that is one of the facilities getting the axe.
By the way, anybody else notice the difference on the rear doors of the black model versus the red model. Looks like we have our Excursion replacement, in the flesh (red model).

Well, let's see:
1. All new chassis
2. New body
3. New interior
4. New 6-speed tranny
5. New IRS

But it's definitely NOT a new body. Therefore, not ALL-NEW, which is my point.
