And all these talks and rumours of Ford and GM merging is just plain weird and wrong... I mean could you imagine? A Mustang SS and a Boss Camaro? How about a Shelby Corvette? Yikes!!!

Heh, so not gonna happen with the signature stuff. This technology merger idea is more along the lines of run of the mill every day econobox rides. A segment where the general buyer isn't sure how the car gets from A to B and they dont really care, only that it can do so reliably and comfortably.

Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, F150s, ect are identified as much by thier powertrains as the looks of the cars themselves and creating a LSMod 3v pushrod VVT V8 (for example) and putting it in a Mustang and a Camaro would be shooting themselves in the foot.
