Ford Futura GT/A

http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtest...gta-wagon.html

I like the idea behind it and the exterior and the shifter. Not to keen on the interior though. Still a neat ride and interesting read. Enjoy

The Falcon wagon returns! I like the idea. If Ford would put the new 3.5L V6 in there, it would be even better! Not that 245hp is bad, but 265hp is better.

Get rid of the "/A" and call it the Futura GT, give it a higher-performance engine, a 6-speed manual, and a sporty body. That's the next step. I like that Ford is working with the Futura, because it has a lot of potential.
By the way, what boat did that steering wheel come off of? That wheel and shifter are pretty wild.

That article was meant to be a joke by C&D (and not a very good in my IMO). The engine is from a first generation Taurus SHO with "GT/A" photoshopped onto it. In fact the whole thing is a photoshop job. No such car actually exists.

EDIT: Here's a link that talks about it being a joke:

Okay, thanks Mark. I was really confused about that thing. Now get to work on the Fusion GT.

YEah it's a chop...I thought the engine lookd like an SHO
It's all really well done though. (chop skillz)

I do think the idea of this is cool though Only not with this car as a base.
I like the look of the single door on the passenger side
Reminds me of the magnum chops I did way back

I saw that article and thought it was too cool to be true. You guys confirmed it. Shucks. IMO, The Fusion could make for a pretty decent looking wagon.

Read the article and maybe I am just too sensitive about the way the media treats domestic manufacturers, but it really pi**ed me off! So much so, that for the first time ever, I wrote a letter to C&D, of course they did not print it. (and with the exception of me referring to them as boners, it wasn't even profane!) Letter follows.....

Boners,
Nice try on this one, just two months too late for your April issue. Let me see, Ford Futura Sprint GT/A Wagon. "Back to the Futura". Designed by Emmett L.Brown. "Mazda derived narrow angle Miller-cycle V-6".Come on fellas. Even you boneheads could tell that is a genuine Yamaha 3.0L SHO V-6. Oh wait I see this is just a joke!! Har har har. But of course your "Hilarity" continues. "a displaced DeLorean owner", Stefan Spencer's "cheesy" counterpoint and of course the clever specs page. My, my , my you folks are too**** funny. I wonder if you would ever poke fun at 'Yoda like you do Ford. Probably not.

Not quite ready to cancel my 'scription

I need to not take things so seriously, methinks....
