With Focus being Ford's best seller in Asia, I don't think Ford is gonna make Focus and Escort too similar.
I read somewhere that Ford's main problem in China and the reason why they're so much behind General Motors and Volkswagen is because Fords are too expensive in China since they're same models that are already sold in Europe and North America. GM and Volkswagen have many cheaper models built specifically from the Chinese market.
I think the Escort will take that place, as Ford's cheaper model built specifically for the Chinese market.

Not bad. The detailing is nice (lights etc) and the front and rear look good, but side on it looks like the wheelbase is far too short.
On a side note..............we were at our monthly Mustang meet today and one of the guys pointed to the road and said "is that the new 4-door Aston Martin"? Nope, it was a new Fusion.........or Mondeo to us. The might not excite you guys, but our version has been put back to a Q4 2014 launch, so this is the first I've seen on the road. It wasn't camo'd, but the lower rear facia looked a different bodycolour, and it sported a tow hook (I was about 100m away).

My first car was the 1992 Ford Escort 1.9L 88 hp automatic.
It was all I could afford right after moving to the USA. It was a lemon. I had it for about a year and had to replace everything and anything. I finally sold it in 2000 when I bought Dodge Intrepid (which was another bad buy).
It looked just like this one.

My Parents bought a 1985 Escort off the lot (sadly, not a GT), it was still trucking when they sold it in 94 without much more than regular maintenance. After really bad luck with a couple GM vehicles (and one real disaster of a Renault), they bought a pair of 96 Escorts the week 97s started getting to the lots and those lasted to 2002 and 2007 before getting sold. They were dirt-cheap and looked/felt like it but they kept trucking. On the other hand, 80s and 90s Big Three quality was a complete crap-shoot. Could just as easily have hated all 3 of them.
I had one, just like this, only mine was a 1.3 liter version.
It was the first car I bought with my own money (I'd previously had a hand-me-down Ford Fiesta). I sold it to buy my first Capri..........first of many........which then led me to the Mustang

. . . Not too bad, for what it is. Grill might be a touch too big, but if China likes it and it makes money for FMC then I'm happy.
