It's a funny thing reading the Autoblog fools. They hate Ford yet Ford has almost 3x as many posts as most other manufacturer boards on Autoblog. What a bunch of negative fools.

I don't think they're especially hard on Ford - they had an '05 Mustang in their garage and loved it; didn't want to give it back, as I recall.

Ford is doing a great job all by themselves of destroying their future. I think the automotive press - along with many of us here - are just getting frustrated with this company. I mean, it's a bit like watching an impending train wreck in slow motion, and feeling powerless to stop it.

It's an odd sort of good news, actually. Usually you have to rebate the big option packages the most, and lose profit. Discoutning the bare-bones vehicle while keeping the high end clear isn't too painful considering.

I know the Edge we just picked up last saturday was an SEL. I really don't understand all the negativity here, I have been driving it for a few days now and love it. The engine is quick and responsive, the car handles quite well, the tranny shifts smoothly, the ride is scary quiet and it is a very roomy 5 seater. I honestly could not have asked for more, and nitpicking over no fully auto matic windows is silly. I am going to do a write up when I have the time, but I will say this if your in the market for a CUV take an Edge for a drive, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I so wanted the Edge to do well. I honestly don't know why it wouldn't be a winner in its segment.

The Edge is selling well
5,586 sold in January, the first month it was relased for sale.
7,977 sold in February.

You probably didn't read the link. Ford has a $500 rebate on only the base Edge. This is because they misjudged how many customers would order the SEL & SEL+ fancy models.

The Edge is a very nice vehicle, very, comfortable & quiet. It just needs a few more things added to the SEL+. At the SEL+ price point it should have auto up down front windows, HomeLink and better tires. It also needs to have a back up camera option.
