What specific issues are you experiencing, DarrenGT?

Hi David Young,

Send me a PM with your VIN, mileage, and phone number. Let me know what is going on with SYNC and I'll see how I can best assist.

I have it, thank you. I conceded to turning on the 911 to get around the reminders even though there is an option to have 911 off w/o reminders it still sends you

Also is it true you cannot "send" a text response through sync when your phone is locked ? You must unlock your phone screen for this function to work properly?

I still find the system choppy. I don’t like having to say “Bluetooth audio” every time I want to play or listen to a voicemail when the phone is paired and active all the time.

I don’t like when going to media, when my same memory stick has been in place and having to bring up the play list and select all to get it started most of the time.

Crackberry is reporting the choice hasn't officially been made for their next gen system.
That's Ford's official PR.

I'll seriously be disappointed if they choose an Apple product or Google Android system.
They may be fine for your unsecured teen's phone, but for something like this, QNX is the way to go.

Which system is used by the most people/which system is going to be "liked" by future buyers?

That is likely the primary question the people who will make the decision are trying to answer. Popularity is, unfortunately, more important to many people than functionality.

If it's popularity that's key then Android has it in the bag as far as mobile goes.

This is a car system, not a phone.
I hope they go with an established, reliable, and EFFICIENT OS

QNX has the experience in both fields.
If you are wondering about the phone-to-car connection, don't worry. It'll have to support all of the popular ecosystems anyway.

Blackberry/QNX would also be the go-to on that. BES12 now supports all legacy/current BB's as well as all other non-BB phones.
Besides BB10 has android runtimes in it. It can run pretty much any Android app.

I might be able to overlook the ugly 2015 Mustang Front end if Ford replaces MS SYNC with Apple IOS!

That alone is enough for me NOT to get the Electronic package.
You'd have to probably install iTunes

You'd have to install iTunes, but then to install iTunes you'd have to install Quicktime...

I think I'd rather be shot in the face.

They can make it look however they want, but this is pretty cool.

And check out the responsiveness of the system. Disregard the sound stuff. It's cool, but I'd rather have the option of hearing the real sound the engine/mufflers are making and the ability to turn that on/off rather than a synthetic sound.

I love how it integrates the phone apps directly into the display. The possibilities are pretty mind boggling at that.

As for Apple in those cars...I'm glad I'm not buying a Ferrari :P
I'm still curious how much they have to pay Cisco for use of 'ios'
