I'd be willing to bet they'd price it just under that with average sales being in the $20.5k to 21.5k range depending on options.

I bet the focus ST will start more in the 26k area and the fiesta in the 24k

I don't think they'll go that far.

AWD 265 hp Subaru Impreza WRX has a base price of $25,500. Since Focus has 15 hp less and no AWD, $24,000 should be a fair price.

As for Fiesta ST, they don't have any real competition, but I think $20,000 should be a fair price.

Focus ST has to stay under the $25k mark to be competitive IMO. The Speed3 is right there without the tech package.

Fiesta ST could come in at $19k and do really well. Sounds like Chevy might make a hopped up Sonic to compete.

If the Fiesta ST's base price comes in higher than about 20k I think Ford will have a serious problem moving those cars.

The FIAT 500 Abarth that's coming next year will be a direct competitor for the Fiesta ST.. Maybe keep an eye on it's price tag to get an idea of what the ST will be going for?

Or what about the Polo GTI? What are they selling for over in Europe?

Polo GTI starts at 18,000 euros ($24,500), but that's Europe where cars in general are much more expensive. Plus it's a VW, which are some of the most expensive cars in its classes in Europe.
