F-150 Raptor

I was just on autoblog and found this. Its supposed to be a sport F-150 for legit offroading. Sounds pretty cool......I wonder what the actual specs of it will be.

Interesting! I wonder how different it will be from the normal 4x4 F150. Also, I wonder how much of a premium Ford will be charging for this thing.

Forgive my ignorance but how do we know this isn't just a consumer's F-150 thats been lifted?

Not to rain on the parade though. I would love to see a model like this from Ford

And those flares look pretty awesome (I guess that might be the reason we know its not aftermarket, if those flares aren't available anywhere else)

I guess we really dont know......but Ive never seen those flares on any F-150. If it is really from ford than certainly is pretty interesting. Has any other car company produced a factory ready truck like that?

on top of that, look how shotty that front end has been slapped together to hide it, makes it easy to blend in with the stickers too

I think the original rumor was that it is going to have the twin force 6.2...if so, I'm game.

Raptor is a pretty well known project at this point with most of the usual 'suspects' (Blue II, 4cam, etc) confirming the projects existence so at this point we can be pretty certain that a hi-performance, long travel suspension, off road version of the F-Series 4x4 is in development. And, so long as we are making wishes here, I hope that it is available with the 4.4l TDi V8 when it finally does debut.

I was wondering if it might be badged as a SVT myself. I think a dedicated off road vehicle from an internal tuner division would be extremely cool.
