well that was March 12....and the other one said ford said in Aug that it sold the entire company.. so they do not have any stake in AM.

I'm not disputing that they no longer have a stake. I'm just wondering why a new press release wasn't issued to supercede the March 12th release since the terms of the sale have changed.

Designing and producing truely compelling modern cars is one thing.

Being able to sell them at a profit is a whole different story, and a lot more difficult.

I doubt that Jag will EVER be profitable again unless their entire UK manufacturing operations are shut down and Jags get made somewhere else.

The truest statement in this thread. Jaguar is a colossal black hole for funds needed elsewhere...

Sadly, Mercury and Lincoln suffered the most from this abysmal purchase, and now Merc & Linc may expire from the neglect they endured while millions and possibly billions were wasted on effin' Jaguar.

Land Rover's actually a loss, since without LR Ford doesn't really have any off-road vehicles worthy of the name since the original Broncos were replaced by the Bronco IIs and the later Explorers. Realistically, Land Rover's never-ending build quality issues are unacceptable as they are, and too expensive to fix for a company that needs to get its core profitability back on track...
