Business Week talks next Fusion/Mondeo

http://www.businessweek.com/autos/au...o_show_of.html

Not much new info for anyone paying attention, but I thought I'd share.

BTW: That is not the current or next anything, its an old chop BW used for some reason.

So next Fusion and Mondeo will be the same car?

God I hope not.

Excellent idea!

Some are worried that the same car won’t fly in both markets. But that flies in the face of Mulally’s favorite benchmark, Toyota, which sells a global Corolla and Camry.
Yes. Yes. Finally, some common sense!

As to the photo: do you know where the original chop originated? Did it, in fact, originate from Ford, because it could be a real concept photo that's been kicking around. That article makes it sound as though that picture is, indeed, either the design they intend to use - or similar to it - because the pic doesn't look like the Mondeo...it looks like a toned-down Iosis.

IIRC it was a chop of the Iosis speculating on what the Mondeo would look like, not anything official.

I wonder who did the chop. It looks pretty polished, as though it was at least done by a magazine.

If the new Mondeo looks that good, it ought to trounce every other car in its segment.

This is nothing new, but still great to know, if the the current Fusion looked like the Mondeo it would probably sell twice what it does now.
