Brother in-law got a '64 Fairlane

It is Sweet! I'm actually jealous! its a 351W, 4 speed ....totally cool! Check it out! just a scratch on the rear quarter, and a ding on the deck lid...but other than that...BEAUTIFUL!!.....I smell a teardrop hood in his future..

so I got to drive it last night....the thing is a rocket ship! Fast, fast car! and it has rediculas 4:56 gears it is a blast to drive. It is much less refined than my 65...the engine itself is loud and can hear the fan from inside the car...it feels much more of an "authentic" muscle car than mine does. its wierd... I feel like a yuppie now cause his is so Old School.

UPDATE!!!!!!!

ok....So it Seems that my brother in law buying this car had turned out to be the equivalent of winning the "Muscle Car Lottery" Its a long story, but I'll get you the gist of it.

Last weekend, doing a burnout, He broke both of the rear shock mounts on his launch. After figuring out how that happened, he figured the engine HAD to have more horsepower than he thought it did. The only thing the previous owner told him is that it is a 351W...and by examining the engine, you can see an intake, carb, and the lope of a mild cam.

So he tracks the owner trail until he got to the man who had the engine work done and he got a hold of the engine shop that did the build. They had all of the records, but said he remembered the car because it was a strange build. This peaked our interest. He said that they punched it out a whole bunch and put a stroker crank in it, but only added a mild cam, intake, and carb, but put the stock heads back on. We ask how much does "punch out a lot" mean....and guess what he says?

427!!!!! He has a 427 Small Block, and the guy that sold it too him had NO IDEA!! HAHAHA!!!!! I tell you…If I had 10% of the Luck of my brother in-law, I would be a millionaire. I can’t believe it!

Thought you guys would like to hear that story.

Yeah man...in hind sight as I look at my previous post about driving it...all of the comments I make about it completely make sense now that I know it is an authentic beast of a car.
