Its all about the fairlane concept. Its a pretty good video. Here are two interesting screen shots:
1st is a model that got blurred out in a shot of a design studio. What does that look like to you guys?

Two of those clay models are definitely fairlanes, but there's also more of a sedan looking thing with a more sloped roof line. As for the blurred one... I thought maybe the restyled 500? Could that even be a model for a production Fairlane? I guess it has about the right windshield, hood proportions.
The second shot i took is of Mark Fields being shown around what seems to be a regular, four front-hinged door version of the fairlane. The Fairlane concept we've already seen had rear-hinged suicide doors.

As with any future ford product, I can't wait to see what they come up with.

I'm very intrested in that White clay to the left of the blurred one.....Looks awfly sporty....and mustang-like
The blurred one has odd proportions for a sdean, even with the the odd 500 look, short nose and very tall roof. Maybe its a small CUV/SUV crossover study....
The two in the foreground are facing left of frame, but the two in the back appear to be facing right of frame (the rearmost is almost certainly, that pillar's too thick for an A-pillar, but jsut right for a C). If that's true, the silver one looks dead-on to be the rear of a Mustang Vert or similar sporty vert.

Sounds awesome to me! And that makes me think the four front-hinged door vehicle we see in this video is indeed a production ready version of the Fairlane. For once! Ford is putting out a Concept without dumbing it down!!!
J. Mays, Ford Motor Co. chief creative officer and group vice president-design. says the upcoming Ford Fairlane is so close to the original concept that only those close to project can tell the difference.

i'd just like to bring this thing up again, as there's discussion on autoblog about some japanese CUV in LA, and a bunch of people there think its the Fairlane. John Neff from autoblog pulled a "I haven't seen it at the media preview or anything (wink wink) but i will tell you that is not the fairlane". So that's pretty cool that members of the media were definitely shown the production fairlane, which means we should be seeing it shortly, and which means that this car in the screenshot up above is most likely what the media was shown.
The reason i'm bringing this up is that this means Ford stayed really true to a concept design, and that could bode well for upcoming concepts! I WANT A R3FLEX!! first of all... and an interceptor, even though i haven't seen it yet, though i bet the media folk got to see that too.
and PS. i should win a prize for getting traffic on TMS, this thread got viewed 100 times cause i linked to it on autoblog.
a hundred!
Brad may have his stang featured in major magazines and so forth, but I commented on Autoblog! And yes, I have been posting a crap load lately, cause its exam period, and I'll do anything if it keeps me from studying.
