Not built for left-hand drive. Not built to our crash or emissions standards. However, rumor is that we WILL get the next-gen one.

Which in build quality, performance, hp and just about every other quality falls drastically short when put up against the Falcon

Because its sales would be about as horrible as sales of the Aussie GTO were.

Someone who wants both, although I'd rather have two Mustangs!

I would certainly consider it if I could afford it. It would be much easier to stuff my kids in the back seat of the Falcon than it is to stuff them in the back seat of my Mustang. Some of us can only afford one vehicle.

That thing is as hot as the sun. I would definitely be there (provided money was available).

Aussie Falcon > S197 Mustang
Notice those people who don't own an S197 are the ones who put it down?

It's the Falcon V8 "top dog". It only makes 389 hp. The "top dog" Mustang makes 500 hp. I could only find one online source for performance numbers, and a Falcon GT with the 290 KW (389 hp) 5.4L does 0-60 in 6 secs and the quarter mile in 14.05 seconds. The run of the mill 300hp Mustang GT can do better than that.

The only theoretical perfomance advantage the Falcon has is IRS, but as proven in Grand Am Cup , a well tuned live axle Mustang can beat IRS equipped cars.

Build quality, and "every other quality" are highly subjective and are subject to the "grass is always greener" syndrome. The Falcon looks to me like a 2001 Nissan Maxima with a Ford grille.

I'm sure the Falcon is a fine car but they can keep it over there. I'm more than satisfied with my S197 and have no need for a four door sedan that looks like a Sydney taxi with LeMans stripes. S197> Falcon!

I would buy one over a new Mustang . . . . but that's because I already have my Mach. So a "falcon type" RWD V8 Ford Sedan is more appealing to me than the Taurus I currently drive day-to-day.

And if I had to choose just one vehicle between a FPV Falcon or a Mustang GT (2005+) I would choose the Falcon. Not because I don't like the Mustang, but because a Falcon will be able to fill more roles in my life.

And I agree with V10 about the Falcon (in current styling) would not sell well over here as a whole, but I like it.

I would rather have a S197 then the Falcon overall, but for family needs i would rather have the Falcon.

It would be outside my budget but it would still be aweseom to have here to compete with the G8.
