Any news on a new Ford expedition or excursion???

???

I hope ford will still make them a truck based SUV, and not some city based SUV.

Anyway, any news on any of them?

Ford will most likely kill the Expedition pretty soon.

F-150 got all this great updates recently and Expedition is still the same as it was back when it was introduced in 2006.

Ford is usually pretty clear about their future lineup and what to expect, but I haven't heard absolutely anything on Expedition. That pretty much tells us that Ford will most likely kill the Expedition quietly like they have killed Mercury recently.

E-Series?

Explorer should also get the job done, majority of boats don't weight over 5,000 lbs which is Explorer's towing capacity.
If you need to tow something heaver then you shouldn't be using an SUV anyway, you should be using the SuperDuty.

The regulations which Expedition cannot possibly meet in current form don't kick in until 2016, so there's no huge need to kill it right now. Supposedly a refresh is coming next year wherein Expy gets its 5.0 and 3.5EB like the F-150. Think mild exterior update, moderate interior update with MFT added.

The all-new F-150 which is designed to meet the new standards is coming in 2014, so figure in 2015 we'll either see an Expy which can meet the standards or the end of the line.

I had already mentioned that their new aim at fuel efficiency will be more aluminum panels.
Don't ask me how I know. LoL

So GM will completely control the full sized SUV market? Ford is just gonna go down without a fight? Maybe a BETTER expedition might actually turn a few heads.
Of course, my next SUV will still be GM.

I'll probally have to do the same although I have been ford only guy and my family so gringe at the thought. when I was looking at trading in my '05 explorer V8 limited I was looking at pulling the trigger on an expi. I was really kinda shocked at the lack of real 4X4s from ford basically down to the expi or trucks. The new explorer wasn't even on my list, sadly not looking for a car based SUV and really Ford has enough of them IMHO they wrecked the explorer .

I relize that most if not close to all people do not off road thier SUVs but real frame on suvs still have a place. I pull my boat and some of the boat launch sites leave a little to be desired. some of the ones I use if you don't have 4 wheel drive and low range forget about ever getting your boat out, also I might be the alone on this but sometimes when the snow is really deep or the roads get bad the awd drive is okay but 4 wheel drive gives a more positive feel in the real nasty stuff and big hills so being able to switch back and forth was always a really nice thing. I bought an '08 V8 explorer that just came in after a lease turn in with only 10K on the clock and really clean so I jumped at the chance to get the last of the of real explorers but I was always hoping in the back of mind when it came time I could move into the expi when I needed.

I would rather buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango, than a GM. The only car that GM makes that I like is the Corvette. Thats just my opinion.

I wonder if their new Euro-Van will have a high-passenger/high gcvw option?

Remember the Excursion? It was better than the Suburban but never took the crown away, largely because of that attitude. There is not a (very) Large SUV market so much as there is a (very) large GM SUV Market. People who want a Suburban/Tahoe want that come hell or highwater, Denali included, and those who don't mostly buy pickups or vans. The only real exception is the luxury (very) Large SUV market, where the Navigator once ruled and possibly could again.
