Any new Diesel ??
Hello,
any rumors about diesel engines inf US Fords?
I`m just thinking, if Ford might offer additional Models with an diesel engine in the US..
"I would" offer the following models with an diesel engine:
- F150
- Expediton
- Explorer
- Edge
- Flex
- Taurus
-[Mustang. Why not?! I live in Germany. here are many BMW 4-Series and A5 sold with diesel engines]
- [Focus, with an 2,0l R4?!]
- [Fusion, with an 2,0l R4?!]
But there is one thing, I don`t understand. Why has Ford brought the 3,2l R5 Diesel engine to the US?
I would have preferred the 3,0l V6 - or if necessary the (old) 2,7l version of that engine. I copuld imagine that this engine is besster suited to "serve" in a car, than that heavy, truck diesel R5 engine.
How do you think of that point?
Does anybody know the reason why Ford took the R5 engine offer the V& Diesel?
How do you think of Diesels in general?
P.S.: In general I think, Chrysler is in this point "state of the art" at the moment. The VM Motori V6 diesel in combination with the 8-Speed-Automatic, is a superb drivetrain. (But in my eyes also a bit expensive. If I got it right, i costs $4000 surplus in the Dodge Ram.)
Neverthe less I`d like to see Chrysler to extend to diesel engine to other models like Durango, 300/ Charger and Challanger as well.

A lot of the reason there aren't as many diesel cars over here, from what I understand, is because most of europe has no emissions standards unlike us and can pretty much run whatever the hell they want and the US is super dependant on gasoline. When I was in kosovo back in 08 pretty much every car we saw was diesel...except those couple masaurati's(probabaly spelled wrong don't care lol) we saw
