Aluminum Shelby Cobra?
#3
The owner dropped it off at the show and left. I never got the chance to ask him/her. Most of the people were skeptical that it was original but no one was 100% sure.

Aluminum Shelby Cobra?
Based on the steering wheel and interior, I'm going to guess replica. Either way, it's still awesome. I'd rather have a replica anyway - these cars are meant to be driven, not locked away in a garage.

At one time in the recent past, Shelby American was making Cobra replicas available in either aluminum or 'glass. They still might be. The aluminum bodies were a thicker gauge and they were made in-house at the former location at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Carroll Shelby was friends with the Governor of Nevada so he worked a deal for the 'glass bodies to be made in the state prison. I guess it's possible that this could be an original Shelby replica in polished aluminum.
I doubt if it's a wrap....it looks way too perfect and reflective to be anything other than metal.
I'd be afraid to drive it, and I agree....a really well built and engineered Cobra replica is far more desirable and doesn't need to spend it's life as a garage queen.
