6.2L SVT Raptor power figures
awesomeness, i like how its not like the other power ratings that either end with a 5 or 0 (260hp, 300hp, 320hp, 305hp, 390hp, ect.). but nonetheless i cant wait to see this engine in the harley davidson

According to F-150 Marketing Manager Mark Grueber, the Raptor 6.2 will get to 60 mph 1.5 seconds faster than the 5.4 while matching its fuel economy (as though anyone buying a Raptor will car about MPGs). That should put the 6.2 somewhere in the upper six- to low seven-range for a 0-60 mph run (Mike Levine at PickupTrucks.com clocked a Raptor at 8.8 seconds with a brake torque).
I am a little disappointed that it didn't match or beat the LS3's hp figures but it does beat the torque numbers and a 5000lbs truck could prob use the extra torque over the hp then a 3000lb car.
Did anyone see the special edition Raptor numbers using the same normally aspirated 6.2 block?
Ford can tune it for power. I think they're just leaving room to grow and room for SE's.
Plus it's a 2-valve for now, like the 4.6 and 5.4 were, but in the future we will see 3 and 4 valve 6.2s

Key specifications of the FR Raptor XT include:
- 500-hp (est.) 6.2-liter naturally aspirated engine
- Six-speed automatic transmission

Wow I'm suprised to see they can tune in almost 100HP. That a lot for just maybe intake/exhaust upgrades & tuning.
I suppose other modifications could be part of the pkg. but would they do that? What could they change to get that type of gain? cyl heads and or cams? Does anyone know what octane rating the 6.2L will require in the Raptor?

I've seen statements that Ford's numbers are on 87 octane, while GM's are on 91 octane.
Ford's 6.2L Boss = 411hp, 434 torque, 87 octane, 9.8:1 compression
Chevy's 6.2L L92 = 403hp, 417 torque, 91 octane, 10.5:1 compression
Unverified

Why a XT?? just for the people who have too much money & don't wana build a truck on their own? If its not going to fit into a racing class it just seems to be a "toy" for the uber rich. If it had a VIN and was street legal I maybe could see it, but with just a serial number it seems silly. Yet you and I both know if we could afford it we would have one and they will sell all of them in the first day the order bank opens!!!!!

Yeah and you got the Scumaro 6.2 at 426/420.
I'm not trying to dog on the new truck and/or engine but man, it would be nice for Ford to just come out and stomp on GM's ratings for once.
This is Ford's new truck engine, and it outperforms GM's highest-tier truck engine while running on regular unleaded. Let's wait until the Los Angeles Auto Show and see what Ford has in store for the Mustang before we crucify them just yet. IMO, this is not the Ford of old; they are not content with engines being "almost as powerful as" GM's offerings. Comparing Ford's truck engine to GM's musclecar engine isn't apples-to-apples, again IMO.

Will this same engine/ratings found in the SVT Raptor be used in the common F150s? And again, I'm not crucifying Ford at all, I'm only comparing ratings (and they're just that, ratings) of identical displacement engines: 6.2 to 6.2.
