Ford confirms 2014 Fiesta with 1.0-liter EcoBoost for US
Official EPA certification has not been completed, but Ford expects the EcoBoost-equipped Fiesta to be the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid car sold in the US. In other words, we're looking at fuel economy around the 45-mile-per-gallon mark. The 1.0L engine is projected to produce 123 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque under the hood of the Fiesta – gains of three horses and 36 lb-ft versus the current car's 1.6-liter naturally aspirated four.

Fiesta Ecoboost to be USA's most efficient car
Although the car hasn’t yet been tested by the US’s Environmental Protection Agency, which provides official fuel consumption figures, it should easily achieve over 50mpg.

This is a good move for Ford. Finally, the Fiesta will have a useful purpose and benefit over the Focus, aside from the lower cost. The new Fiesta and ST coming soon should do well in the subcompact segment IMO.
