2014 F150 - decent reliable used truck?
Hi All, I figure some of us on here must be familiar with F150 trucks .... I have been looking for a reasonable deal on a basic used truck for a while now; found a 2014 F150 "work truck" with about 130K miles for what I consider a fairly reasonable price ($14K). It is an extended cab long bed 4x4, which is what I want. It has the 5.0 "flex fuel" engine; I believe that is a detuned version of the Coyote. It has a few dings from use as a work truck, undercarriage and frame look pretty good; some surface rust but nothing falling apart like I have seen on a lot of the other trucks I have been looking at.
I will be using it mostly for short trips for construction supplies and stuff like that, but also need it to be reliable for occasional longer trips. (maybe a couple hundred miles or so each way)
Are these generally good trucks, with this kind of mileage on them? What are the main potential trouble spots to look for?
All comments, thoughts and suggestions appreciated, thanks in advance.
Also, is there a Ford Trucks forum where I could check this out? (haven't Googled it yet ....)

I have flipped a lot of 150's. None as new as 2014 but close, and have never had major problems to fix. I think the biggest part I had to replace was a drive shaft with bed ujoints. Mostly smaller issues like air bag sensors and spark plugs

thanks Glenn -- no major red flags at 130K miles?

understood, rust is the big issue that I have been seeing on these used trucks, especially if they have been used as plow trucks .... thanks again

On an Older Truck the 5.0 Would Be Easier to Maintain Vs 3.5L as Turbo Repairs Get Spendy at this Age!
