Meh. Still overstyled, bulbous, heavy, fussy and lumpy looking. Pass.

When the new taurus I was ok with the back end. But when I see it now it just bugs me. I actually prefer the grill of the standard Taurus over the SHO.
This is a take it or leave it car for me.

Having slept on it and looked at it in video and some close-ups, I really appreciate the effort to connect the look with Mustang. The headlight-to-grill transition and the lower "mouth" especially look very close to some recent Mustang cues. It's just kinda stuck about 75% of the way to being awesome. I hope it's something they're going to pursue more with Fusion and Taurus going forward. Hopefully a clean-sheet design will succeed better than a nose job.

I kinda like it. I need to see it in black, tints, a drop, and tinted tails (minus the reverse light) asap!!
Real pictures look better than that digital stuff. I think the black cues fit really well- vs. the old one with the shiny chrome all over. (also like the headlights- different design and darkened) Plus the tail light looks good. Fit and finish I think it's a good refresher.
Does the MKS also get one?

I like it! Unless Ford comes up with a RWD V-8 sports sedan in the next few years this will be my next car. My kids are getting too cramped in the Mustang.

Falcon in its current incarnation is not coming, and the I6 is being replaced by the EB V6 anyway. The next-generation Falcon may shrink down slightly, replaced at the top end by Taurus, to a stretch of the next-gen Mustang's platform in which case I'd expect it to come here in some form.

Yeah, Falcon as it stands now is well and truly dead as an option for North America. I'll be curious to see if the next generation, whatever that car morphs into, makes it to our shores.

I've been driving SUV's & Mustang's for the majority of my adult life. I too have kids, and it would be nice to have a nice comfortable car like a SHO or that new 290hp model.

Top selling full-size sedan (Dodge Charger) barely outsold Taurus in 2010 (75,000 vs 69,000). I doubt Ford will go through all trouble of bringing Falcon to the USA when sales difference between best seller and Taurus is so small.

After much-loved-but-slow-seller Holden Commodore (Pontiac G8) failed in the USA, I doubt that will happen.

That being said I like the refresh, mostly because they are keeping the Taurus new. Isn't this the 4th refresh for the current gen Taurus/500 since 2005? I hope the Mustang starts seeing minor refreshes like this during a body style to keep them fresh.
