Priced the way I'd want one, SE sedan, manual trans, sport package, winter package, it came to just under $20k. A lttle too much IMHO, that's Fusion money, and while some things are better than the Fusion, for our growing family of four, the Fusion would be pretty tempting for the same money. Hopefully X-plan and rebates would take it down closet to $17k, at which point it would be very tempting, especially if they can get 40 mpg highway out of the manual trans (and not just the auto).

yeah but once the fusion goes global platform and has all the bells and whistles, that'll be more expensive

40mpg will be with the auto and the Super Fuel Efficency package. But I'm sure you will see 37 or 38 from the manual.

Leather trimmed seats are a $0 option for the Titanium 400A, and come standard with 401A. If you want fancier than that, you need to buy an ST.

I think the biggest problem with these build and price scenarios is that a lot of people just find the top of the line trim level, start clicking off every option, and the wonder why the car is 47 million dollars. I just built a SE with the manual transmission, moonroof, leather, winter package, sport package, and it was under 22k. I don't care what size the car is that represents a lot of options for a 160hp car at that price point.

Nice little find on the 400A package. I hadn't selected that option.

I believe they're both rated the same mpg.

Focus is also bigger and more powerful (120 hp vs 160 hp), but almost $3,000 more expensive.

I like it. If I purchased one, definitely have to factor in the cost of getting ST fascia because the regular one looks pretty bad (in the original sense) IMO.

Ha, I was thinking the exact opposite. I like the standard front fascia but just cannot get on board with the ST's schnoz. Maybe the RS will trump both of them.

If I wanted the ST fascia, I'd just buy a Peugeot.

I do as well. Can't wait to sit in/drive one. Though I still wish the Wagon was going to be an option in America. FMC might already have my deposit if it were . . .

Yeah, I'm really hoping for reconsiders the ST's mug before they send it down the assembly line....but I'm uncertain that they really have the time left for that. And I wholeheartedly agree on the wagon, I suspect it would fare better here than they think. And if they did reconsider the wagon, a RS-engined version of the same produced in a very limited number could be a real attention getter. just a thought.

I'm waiting to see the ST... I'm so tossed on a hot hatch for my DD or just say f(*& it and get an F-150 so I can tow the Shelby to the track... I don't know what would pi$$ off the wife more... Another manual trans car or the 40k+ luxo-barge pickup.

Obviously the 15K price difference wasn't factored into my comment!
