Does anyone have the scoop on whether or not the 2012 Escape will be a re-design or not?

My wife and I are planning on buying an Escape, but we are concerned about the body style. We like the current style, but the upcoming styling change is a big unknown. The model we want is rather specific, with only a couple 2011's in the country that matched what we wanted. Therefore, the dealership we were planning on buying from wanted to order us a 2012 model. The dealership claims that the 2012 Escape's are going to be the same body style, and that a redesign is not coming until 2013. However, some of the random info my wife found online suggests a change is coming for 2012.

Can anyone give us more information? Should we be trying to obtain one of the few 2011's left in the country that match what we want?

Furthermore, some sites suggest the 2012's won't be around until early 2012, but the dealership claims they should start getting them in August or September.

What we are looking for is an Escape Hybrid Limited, 4WD, in Steel Blue, preferably with the Nav system.

 

The all new Escape is coming for the 2013 model year. It will share it's design with the Ford Kuga of Europe and be built in the US. 2012 is the last model year for the classic box style and it will likely be a short model year given Ford's recent practice of debuting new vehicles in the spring. If you want the classic box style then order quickly. The 2012's are carryover models so they should be showing up July or August.

My wife and I ended up purchasing a 2012 Ford Escape. As stated, it is the same body style as the 2011. It was built in KC and delivered in late July.
