2010 Fusion Hyrbid: What say you?

I'm looking to get my mom into one of these in the next few months. What do you think of them? I found one locally for $18k with leather, NAV, and all the fixins. Has about 49k miles on it. Looks good in pics.

When it comes to cars my mom is luxury car snob. Previous cars include Lexus ES, Mercede C280, and her current ML500. The repair bills on the 500 are the only thing that give me a fighting chance into getting her into a domestic.

She has no choice but to go used at this point because it's the wisest financial decision at this time.

So what do you guys think? I don't wanna F this up by getting her into a car that's gonna have issues in a short time frame. Which is what scares me about the hyrbid...but the increased MPG would be REALLY NICE.

Have a couple of friends that drive a 2010 Hybrid Fusion and have zero complaints from them. Both previously owned the Prius. The only word of caution I can attaach to my feedback is that they both live in Michigan (colder weather and comparatively lesser traffic)

get her in a 2007 ish ford five hundred. They can be found with low miles(old people bought them). They get good mpg(3.0 duratec). The are loaded and I mean loaded. I have seen them for $10k in the limited trim.

just keep an eye out. might be something she likes.

My wife bought a new Fusion a few months ago. The car is super nice and sips gas!

She loves the car so much that she started taking the park and ride to work in order to keep the mileage and wear and tear down. Totally contradicts its fuel efficiency I know. Oh well. Women.

If you're gonna look at 2007 500, you might as well take a look at 2008 Taurus.

I know its almost identical car as 500, but Taurus did had the 3.5L ...

The Taurus runs $5000 more. The 3.0 sips fuel

Taurus is little more expensive than the 500, but is not $5,000 more expensive.

There are plenty 2008 Taurus SELs for under $10,000.

The value on the five hundreds dropped pretty low when the taurus came back in 2008.

Understandable since you're out of the country so much

Not a bad deal at all. What did the sales staff do?

I'm gonna run some choices by mom today or Friday and see what she thinks. Not sure she'll like the 500's styling but it's worth a shot.
