According to the British magazine auto car, it will go on sale in 2015 and it will be powered by a new 2.3L EcoBoost engine rated at ~330 hp.

Of course not. The last RS was like 36,000 euros ($50,000) in Europe ... Nobody would pay that much money for a Focus in the USA, even for a 330 hp. Even if they price it below $40,000, I don't think many would be sold.

Its just a bad business for Ford. Each RS in Europe would probably be sold out pretty soon and for much more $$$ than Ford could ask in the USA.

of course it won't see. A dealer in my hometown has had a ST on sale for nearly 2 months now. Nobody wants to pay the higher price, and nobody drives a manual. That's a very specific kind of car, and without the right buyer, it'll never sell, especially at prices nearing a Mustang.

RS can always be imported from Mexico, it will be sold there (or at least the last RS was).

Anyone remember this one?

I imagine there will be a refresh of the range in the same time frame as well.

Interesting. I posted about this article in the 2015 section:

https://themustangsource.com/f806/2-...linder-518159/

The engine is the one that will be shared with the '15 Mustang. As you'll see, Ford are looking to position the RS as it's halo car. I think the Mustang should be that car (there's no confirmation the V8 will be available in the UK).

And, surely, under One Ford, the RS should be available stateside? Why not badge it as an SVT?

Ford needs to add AWD and then market the crap outta it to the STI and EVO guys. Obviously it would need to be priced in the 30-40k range to match those as well. But it could sell if done right.

I don't think it could sell more than few thousands units annually. Even Evo and Sti are pretty much dying the slow death. Mitsubishi is not planing the next Evo and even if they build it, it will be a performance hybrid.

There is also the Volkswagen Golf R, but I don't think its a high seller either.

If they build it at Wayne like they do most of the other US Focii, I don't see how the price would soar. A fully loaded ST is just under $30k, so a $32-33k RS wouldn't be a stretch. I don't expect the 2015 Mustang GT to come in under $35k, so you'd have some space in there and give buyers another option in a competitive area with the Evo and STi crowd.

Would rather see a Fiesta RS with that engine and AWD - kinda sorta like what Ford is campaigning in WRC right now.

It's like Ford thinks all we watch in the states in NASCAR and NHRA. I have been a World Rally fan forever and the new Fiesta RS is sick. They really need to think about stuff before they make decisions like not letting us have the 330HP and AWD car. It would sell like hotcakes over here.
