The 1st truck was the Platinum Edition, hence all the "Bling Bling" of egg carton chrome on the grill. Now the FX4 with the black grill and the XLT with the chrome strips only looks good. So everyone knows, this truck has had EVERY panel changed, and the whole interior redone. This isn't just a "grill change" and call it new. Trust me. We have a broadcast Monday on the Dealer Satellite with the full specs. Once I get the info, I'll be happy to add to this thread. Gonna be impressive, the payload and towing. Plus they added ALOT of features from the SD to it (tailgate step, collapsable bed extender, and trailer brake controller), and the interior is great. Drive a new Escape for a week, and you get so used to the new "poke through" button design.
I now drive a Fusion. Love the car, wish it had the Escape interior center stack. Once we get the specs on towing and payload, we will be in for a suprise. They didn't get to be the #1 truck for 31 years resting on the splenders of their sucess. Remember the change from 2003 to 2004? People hated that truck too, then it was dubbed the best looking of all the brand of pickups. This will be the same way. Once we see it in person, opinions will change. Just look at how many new Super Dutys are on the road. I see so many more than GM and Dodge HD trucks. I really like the design. An evolution of the current truck.

I was bit worried with that first pic from the Times, but wow, the FX4 and the XLT look great, and that interior is awesome. I think the new Ram is fugly, the whole slanting front grill thing just looks awkward...

When I first saw picture last night I really hated it.
But now I don't think it looks bad at all. I still like my F-150 better.
If I decide to buy new truck again, I'll probably go with F-250.

Big thumbs down on the front end; much worse looking than the current truck. Back end seems fine, and frankly, the side profile seems almost identical to the existing truck.
Interior, however, looks good. And the specs and features seem outstanding.

Actually, I like this truck!! Don't like the Platinum package, but the XLT FX4 looked great. Never really cared for the '04 exterior, loved the interior though. Still think my '03 SuperCrew is the best-looking modern Ford truck. (All time best looking Ford truck, '53-'56 F-100)

I don't like it. Recently Ford has established a pattern of showing slick, well executed concepts and producing bland, bordering on ugly, production vehicles. The 2003 F-150 was a good looking truck. JMO, but the 2003 SVT Lightning might have been the best looking full-size truck ever brought to market.
The Super Chief concept was the truck Ford should have produced and didn't, not this half-hearted refresh of the existing design.
