Smooth front end...
...power dome hood...
....nice fender lines...
Looks like a nice evolution of the 2004
Its not as revolutionary... like a nice refresh

Hmmm. I like it. Not sure if I will prefer this to the existing model or not until I see better pics in a greater variety of trim levels. And for some reason Ford's truck designs always seem to take a while to grow on me. Initially I thought the present design wasn't nearly as good as the model which it replaced and now I think it is the best looking full size pickup ever designed.

A nice enough "Mild Move" by Ford. Maybe the new Boss motor will add something to actually get excited about, and finally catch up to GM's and Dodge's engine offerings.
Hope they can find a way to cut the fat out a bit too while maintaining strength -- seems they used the slap-more-iron on the thing approach for the current truck: effective but heavy. Just when is all this advanced CAD-CAM and fancy alloys ever going to reap any discernable benefits?

Anybody else notice those front doors? The crew cab is obviously getting longer....wonder by how much? And that grille looks very interesting. Not at all simple and yet extremely clean. I'm really curious to get a better look at one of these. If the 4.4L diesel shows up sooner than later and better shots don;t drastically change what I am seeing I would be tempted to forego a Bullitt for one of these as my next daily ride (still some time out btw)

Assuming it is as good as I expect that it will be I would absolutely choose this as my next daily ride if I could get a fully loaded, 4wd, Lariat model or above with a regular cab.

Looks good! Pretty much, as Boomer said, an '04 F-150 with its own iteration of Ford's corporate nose and Expedition-esque headlamps. Wonder if it's got the 4.4L diesel under its powerdome hood?

From all indication on BON (Igor is VERY accurate with his info), the diesel won't be available for about 12 months. The Boss motors 6 months after launch. Also the Mustang V8 will be the standard powerplant.

On BON, Blue II (who, unlike Igor, actually works for Ford) has made several references to the "Lions Den" being up and running. Lion is the internal code name for the 4.4L. It appears they're already churning out pre-production units.

I can't wait for the Boss V8's to get here. But as far as the F150 is concerned this, the 4.4L TDi V8,is the engine that is going to put the world on notice that there is indeed a new sheriff in town. Class leading power is a no brainer, the 3.6L version used in land Rovers cranks out 266hp and 472lb-ft of torque....without question the 4.4L will best those numbers. Combine this with diesel engine prestige and fuel efficiency the competitions largest gasoline engines cannot hope to match (Land Rovers with the 3.6L version knock down about 26mpg highway...since gas engine versions of Land Rover's SUV's traditionally get mileage on par with a school bus figure the F150 wont be too far off that number) and the diesel powered Ford is going to be unbeatable on the engine front until another auto maker cranks out a small diesel of their own.

I need to revise those mpg numbers. The Range Rover Sport I used for reference actually gets about 26mpg on the combined European cycle. Put simply, highway mileage numbers as rated by the EPA would be some better than that. I can't imagine the possibility of a F150 with 300hp and 500lb-ft of torque that could realistically known down 25mpg or better, but I know that I want one.
